Financing and repayment help

Debt consolidation through new financing

Understand how it works, its tradeoffs and what it cannot solve.

Consolidation through new financing uses a new facility to settle specified existing debts. It can change monthly payments, but it replaces debt—it does not make debt disappear.

What needs to be replaced?

Identify which accounts will actually be settled, their current settlement quotations and which payments stop afterwards. Other debts remain outside the arrangement unless the written terms say otherwise. A verbal proposal is not completed settlement.

SunLiTe provides consultation and referral for suitable financing routes. We are not the lender and do not create a restructuring arrangement ourselves. New financing requires the provider’s assessment and final terms.

Compare the relief with the tradeoffs

  • Monthly payment: what changes after the selected debts are fully settled?
  • Time and cost: how many months will you pay, what is the total repayment, and what fees or deductions apply?
  • Behaviour afterwards: if you build new card balances after consolidation, you can end up paying both the new facility and new card debt.

Fictional example

Selected old payments · 24 months left
RM1,400/month · RM33,600 total
Assumed dated settlement quotes
RM30,000 combined
New illustration · 36 months
RM1,100/month · RM39,600 total
Monthly relief / extra scheduled repayment
RM300 / RM6,000

Fictional comparison: assume the new facility funds exactly the RM30,000 settlements, no fees apply, both schedules are fixed and all selected old payments cease. RM1,400 − RM1,100 = RM300 monthly relief. But RM39,600 − RM33,600 = RM6,000 more scheduled repayment over a longer period.

Another RM500 monthly debt remains unchanged. Total monthly debts would fall from RM1,900 to RM1,600—not to RM1,100. This illustration is not a rate or approval offer; different settlement amounts or terms change the comparison.

What to do next

Collect the selected payment amounts, remaining terms, dated settlement quotes and any actual proposed terms. Unknown figures should stay unknown; monthly relief alone cannot establish savings.

Discuss the purpose: easier monthly payments, fewer due dates or a specific debt problem. Compare the whole situation before accepting, including debts that will remain.

Keep paying on the existing schedules until settlement or a changed arrangement is confirmed. For urgent payment difficulty, approach your current providers or appropriate official assistance without waiting for new financing.
